Differences in the Ford C-Max and Ford S-Max
Ford makes different models of the same vehicle like with the Ford C-Max and the Ford S-Max. Both are a crossover vehicle meaning they are a cross between a car and an SUV. Both are small in stature but the S-Max is a sportier vehicle than the C-Max. Both feature many of the new ford qualities such as the Ford EcoBoost direct fuel injection engine. There are a few differences that we must note:
Ford C-Max – This is a 5 seat vehicle with a 7 seat Grand C-Max available. This model is more affordable than an equivalent hybrid or diesel engine and improves fuel emissions without compromising performance. The combination of direct fuel injection, advanced turbo charging and variable valve timing creates a more efficient combustion process.
On the other hand the Ford S-Max offers lower front bumpers, LED daytime running lights, 2.0 liter EcoBoost SCTi engine with lightweight all-aluminum construction, high-pressure direct injection system with a maximum output of 203 PS at 5500 rpm. It will do 0-62 mph in 8.5 seconds with a top speed of 137 mph. The Ford S-Max diesel has been upgraded 2.0 liter Ford Duratorq TDCi engine complies with stage 5 emission regulations and is available in 3 power levels; 85, 103 and 120 kw. They feature the new blind spot information system which encourages drivers to be more conscientious about checking over their shoulder by warning of vehicles in their blind spot. They also feature an adjustable speed limiter device that is designed to help drivers set and maintain a specified speed limit.
Both vehicles are Fords so both are great vehicles but the Ford S-Max outweighs the Ford C-Max with its new innovations and features. Although some of these specifications are European standards, the American standards are just as high. The different vehicle divisions design vehicles for different country’s standards. Therefore these should be taken into consideration when shopping online. Emissions and engine performance is determined by each division according to each countries standards and should not be considered the norm in all countries. The standards can be converted to other countries standards to determine the precise specifications. |
